GStreamer on TI DaVinci and OMAP
Before a new release of the plug-in can be published, the following testing needs to occur to validate the plug-in performs its basic functionality correctly.
Remember that even though you are updating the GStreamer Release Testing Matrix, you don't check in the test results changes into the trunk - only in the release branch as documented in the DMAI plug-in release process.
Linux Host Distribution
The DMAI plug-in must be built for at least once device for each Linux host distribution listed in the FAQ?. Document the distribution and version used for each device in the Host Distribution sheet in the GStreamer Release Testing Matrix.
The DMAI plug-in must be built and tested for each supported device listed in this project's homepage. There are several tasks involved in testing each device is supported properly.
Device Specific Build
Configure and build the DMAI plug-in for the device under test. Verify the build occurs without error. Update the steps used to build the plug-in for the device if there are requried changes.
Device Build Steps:
- Building for DM6446 / DM357
- Building for DM355
- Building for DM6467
- Building for OMAP35x
- Building for DM365
Device Specific Test
Run the suite of tests listed in the Testing Steps sheet in the GStreamer Release Testing Matrix. Record the actual gst-launch command in the matrix along with any notes of abnormal behavious that was observed. Update the Result sheet after running each test.
Enter defects in the DMAI plug-in tracker for any new problems you uncover.
