Debuggging Android on OMAP
There are various options for debugging OMAP Zoom2, based on what you're interested in debugging (ex: bootloaders, kernel, user space, android applications etc.) and which emulators/debuggers are available to you. We will list some of the options below:
Could be used to debug your application right from the IDE.
Could be used to debug user space programs by issuing various debug commands.
Could be used to debug bootloaders, kernel and user space.
Could be used to debug bootloaders. Previous versions of CCS (v3.3 and older) did not contain Linux awareness but it is currently being added to CCSv4 which is in the beta phase. It should be possible to debug the kernel and user space once CCSv4 is released.
OProfile is a system-wide profiler for Linux systems, capable of profiling all running code at low overhead. It consists of a kernel driver and a daemon for collecting sample data, and several post-profiling tools for turning data into information.
